Multi-Grammy Award winning vocalist Dionne Warwick returned to the Royal Albert Hall on 28 May 2012 with an All Star Cast in aid of World Hunger Day.
World Hunger Day is about raising awareness of the work of international development charity The Hunger Project, as well as celebrating the achievements of the millions of people already ending their own hunger. Learn more about the project at www.thehungerproject.co.uk.
The concert itself was a huge success, on what will be one of the major highlights of Dionne Warwick’s 50th Anniversary World Tour. The singer performed some of her greatest hits and a selection of covers, being joined by the likes of Rumer, Joe McElderry, Sir Cliff Richard, Mica Paris and Boy George, as well as a memorable duet of hit single Heartbreaker with Alexandra Burke. Most importantly for the cause, much money was raised for the charity, with over £7,000 being raised in buckets alone on the night.
The evening also featured a première performance of One World, One Song, an anthem for World Hunger Day. Learn more about the background of this song here.
