Dance Proms is a unique and exciting collaborative project that celebrates the wealth of talent among the nation’s young dancers. The project culminates in this gala performance at the Hall.

Expect to see a diverse variety of acts celebrating the dedication of the nation’s dance teachers who showcase their students’ abilities, giving an amazing opportunity to young dancers to perform at one of the nation’s most iconic venues.

Dance Proms is the brainchild of the three leading dance examination boards, the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA), the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Royal Albert Hall Education, who are all working together in partnership in a celebration of dance and inspiring creativity.

“Dance Proms 2011 has surely paved the way for an annual event bringing all dance styles together, at last!” Wayne Sleep OBE, 2011 Dance Proms Patron

Who performs? You decide!

Entrants to this year’s Dance Proms submitted a short video of an original dance routine; these videos were then shortlisted by a panel of dance experts.

The job to decide who completes the line-up is down to you, as organisers offer the chance to vote for their favourite act.

Four impressive acts remain:
Danscentre
Kilburn School of Dance
Tap Attack
Studio One DCPA
