Having supported Tinie Tempah last year’s Teenage Cancer Trust concert series on her 22nd birthday, Jessie J returned to the Hall to headline her own show in front of an adoring crowd, some of whom had queued out overnight to guarantee a place in front of the stage.

The Essex-born singer burst onto the British music scene in 2011 with debut single Do It Like A Dude, followed by her first UK number one single, Price Tag.

Support came from East London rapper Professor Green and Manchester-born singer-songwriter Daley. Professor Green collaborated with Jessie J on the night to perform her hit single Price Tag.

Teenage Cancer Trust

The concert was of course to raise funds and awareness for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Each night, some youngsters who have been directly helped by the Teenage Cancer Trust are invited on-stage to introduce the headliners. Jessie J was introduced by 19 year old Sam, and this is Sam’s story:

“I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma when I was 16 and had treatment on the teenage Cancer Trust ward at University College Hospital, London. It was great to be in hospital and still be in a “normal” environment. It was modern, comforting and friendly. It is a really stressful time, but the environment that the Teenage Cancer Trust provided allowed me to relax, be sociable, and almost forget why I had to be there. After going through something like this, one really begins to appreciate what are the important things in life. I now appreciate the people around me so much more; my family and my friends, who were really amazing the whole way through.”
